CARIBBEAN FAMILY FUN

Although many people think of the Caribbean as a great spot for couples to vacation, there’s plenty of family fun to be had in the Caribbean too. If you’re looking for a family vacation and you haven’t considered the Caribbean, look again, as there are some family fun opportunities here that you and your family will never forget. Here are some great family fun ideas to get you started.

The Great River Jamaica

Share a wonderful adventure with a partner or friend on a white-water kayak for 2. After some safety lessons from your tour guide and a quick gear check, you launch your kayak into the river and immediately feel the intensity of the rushing water. The swift currents carry your kayak downstream, challenging you and your partner to paddle confidently through various areas of exciting white water rapids and picturesque river pools. As you pass under the old stone bridge, the currents begin to fade and your kayak takes a calm ride into the Caribbean Sea. Once at sea, you paddle at your own pace along the coastline until you arrive at our private beach for a cool drink and some time to relax.

Dolphin Cove Jamaica

It’s the land of Blue Mountains and green bananas, the birthplace of the world’s fastest man and most iconic music legend.

It’s where you can shuffle your feet with sting rays, drum your fingers against the dorsal of a shark and dance with a dolphin.

It’s Dolphin Cove, Jamaica, and it’s a marine park unlike any other in the Caribbean. Dolphin Cove is divided between two awe inspiring locations: Ocho Rios and Negril. With Ocho Rios to the North East, and Negril to the West, like twins the parks are similar yet different, singularly impactful, each packed with activities and their own unique secrets to be discovered.

Dolphin Cove Negril is set on 20 odd acres of wide oceanfront landscape and gives you the opportunity to ride a camel, feel a real sea creature like a starfish, urchin or sea cucumber in the Touch Tank, pet stingrays and admire the infamous Shark Shows. And, of course, you can play, swim or surf with a dolphin.

Blue Hole Mineral Spring Jamaica
The Blue Hole is located near the tourist resort of Negril in western Jamaica to which locals and visitors are flocking for both health reasons and the thrill of leaping into the glass-like water of the mineral spring. It’s 22 feet from the edge of the cliff to the surface of the water and then another 35 feet to the bottom. If brave enough, you can fling yourself into the chilly depths, which feels absolutely exhilarating. Or you can be wowed as the lifeguard demonstrates an acrobatic feat of leaping out of an overhanging tree to dive 55 feet into the spring.

The underground pool is approximately 40-by-50 feet, so you can swim around and get a good workout or just float and meditate in the clean, clear water. Reflected ripples of sunlight dance on the limestone walls like flickering flames, while the pervading silence soothes the soul. Around the sides of the spring, there is a natural mud reputed to be good for the skin and which bathers like to rub on their face and body.
